The true essence of life is God! On the supposition that God exists (which I say He does) then our journey in this life is to find Him. To us who know Him, life without God is meaningless. As such we seek for Him; and those who find Him have the most fulfilling life imaginable. To find Him though presupposes the Christian loves God and keeps his moral rules of the 10 Commandments. To be clear he lives in an ongoing quest of life to perfect holiness in the fear of God.

Song of Solomon 2:9 says that God stands behind our wall. This metaphor is encouraging because to the holy, He is very near. Yet he does not show himself in his fulness.  If He did, this would not require faith in us and therefore would leave room for meritorious behavior in the least degree.

Notwithstanding, to the godly, he does reveal His secret self as a reward for seeking him with all the heart (Genesis 18: 17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do). Therefore, God shows himself through a metaphorical latticework; and that only in degrees. To Abraham, he revealed the secret of his intent for the destruction of Sodom; for Moses, he showed him the back parts of his glory; for Paul, he showed him the third heaven.

Today we are going to explore God and the secret propinquity of our bridegroom and make you ever aware of his glory. And we will provide some fearful degrees of accountability to those who live their lives wrongly thought he standeth even behind their wall!

Austin Gatherings uses the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, and Pastor Mark Jones will be preaching today out of Song of Solomon 2:8-9.
